The Historical Significance
of the Mystichrome Cobra

Chapter 8

Final Words of Wisdom



To my fellow Mystichrome Cobra owners, stand proud and let your special vehicle speak for itself about its own legendary status. Viewed as an enigma, critics and naysayers may try to argue and debate about what makes your car so special, but as one proud Mystichrome Cobra owner since the very beginning, the only wisdom I have to impart is this: Envy is an incurable disease, and envious people are never happy about anything.

Numerous automotive publications cannot be wrong about the Terminator Cobra, as they have hailed (past tense) and continue to hail (present tense) its authority on the streets and racetracks, and with the passage of time, as surviving examples of the Mystichrome Cobra inevitably continue to dwindle due to unforeseen mishaps, our beautiful, color-changing Cobras will continue to remain unattainable for many, especially as our cars achieve classic status and their values begin to appreciate. A unicorn, a blue dahlia, a mirage — the Mystichrome Cobra will become that mystical creature seen only in print or at a car show. A soul, a personality, a ghost in the machine — the Mystichrome Cobra has all of these, and more.

Always remember that the beautiful, colorful brute sitting safely covered inside your climate-controlled garage is all of these things and more, with its tangible and intangible charm. So, climb inside the cockpit and enjoy its spirited ride. Whether your Mystichrome Cobra is completely stock or completely modified with insane amounts of power, remember to drive it at least once a week, as they get a bit grumpy and groggy from inactivity. And remember to open it up and let that supercharger whine, as they tend to get too much carbon buildup inside their chambers from driving it with too demure of road manners. The heart that beats within is the engine of a factory racecar, and the sting from its venomous bite is known very well by the competition.

Above all else, enjoy the time you spend with your special car, knowing that you are one of the proud few in this world — the owner of a living legend, the owner of a Mystichrome Cobra!

Be sure to check out the official press releases from SVT and Ford Motor Company regarding the then-upcoming production of the Mystichrome Cobra as well as the other features on this website, which is wholly dedicated to being the one, official source of knowledge and the online home of the Mystichrome Cobra.

Below and below right: The owner and founder of this website used his own car, Mystichrome Cobra #969, as the photographed model to further demonstrate the range of colors in the Mystichrome paint formula under various light conditions.

Above: The Mystichrome Cobra convertible prototype took a few laps in warm weather at Ford’s proving grounds in Romeo, Michigan, for a photo op before touring with the Ford Motor Company auto show circuit during 2003.

Below: The heart that beats inside every Mystichrome Cobra, as well as every Terminator Cobra ever built, is essentially a bulletproof, factory-built racecar engine hand-built by two-man teams at the Ford Romeo Engine Plant.
