The Mystichrome Cobra debuted alongside the Mustang GT 40th Anniversary Limited Edition at Ford’s 40th Anniversary Mustang exhibit at the New York International Auto Show on April 16, 2003, a day before the marque’s 39th birthday.
Preproduction Convertible
The Mystichrome Cobra preproduction convertible took a few laps in warm weather at Ford’s Michigan Proving Ground in Romeo, Michigan, for a photo op of the then-forthcoming beautiful, color-shifting Terminator droptop.
Original Press Kit
Ford Motor Company released an official press kit which included the press releases from Ford and SVT along with photos of the Mystichrome Cobra preproduction coupe.
On the Show Circuit
